Final Form Filings and Dashboard Development Project
Project Overview:
At the outset of my tenure with Guideline, Inc., I became actively involved in a project centered on final form 5500 filing processing. What commenced as a focused task on Form 5500 soon evolved into a comprehensive project. Building upon initial efforts, the initiative expanded to the development of dashboards derived from spreadsheet databases. This growth necessitated seamless collaboration across multiple teams. As the project progressed, utilizing my SQL knowledge and in tandem with our team's business analyst, we extended our dashboard development efforts to encompass forms 5330, 8955, and 5558, providing a holistic view and management platform for multiple filings.
Key Objectives:
Form 5500 Processing: Efficiently process the final form 5500 filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Dashboard Development: Transition from spreadsheet databases to intuitive dashboards for effective data visualization and management.
Inter-Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with diverse teams to integrate multifaceted data points into the dashboard.
Expansion to Additional Forms: Extend the dashboard's capabilities to include data and processing details for forms 5330, 8955, and 5558.
Approach:
Initial Form 5500 Processing: Began with meticulous processing of the final form 5500, focusing on ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Transition to Dashboards: Leveraging data from spreadsheet databases, we initiated the design and development of dashboards to provide a more interactive and effective data management tool.
Collaborative Development: Engaged with multiple teams to gather diverse data inputs, ensuring the dashboard offered a comprehensive overview and facilitated easy data navigation and management.
Expansion & Enhancement: In coordination with the team's business analyst, we progressively expanded the dashboard's reach to integrate forms 5330, 8955, and 5558. This provided a centralized platform for multiple form management, driving operational efficiency.
Results:
Starting with the foundational task of form 5500 filing, the project witnessed remarkable evolution and growth during its course. With meticulous planning, collaboration, and execution, we successfully transitioned from basic spreadsheet databases to sophisticated dashboards, offering a unified view of multiple forms. These dashboards not only streamlined the form filing processes but also enhanced data accessibility and management. Final filings processing and submission time was reduced by over 75%.
